The short answer
A floor plan drawn to scale only needs one length you know. Tap both ends of that wall, type its length, and every other distance on the plan follows: the tool counts the pixels between two points and multiplies by the same ratio.
It runs entirely in your browser, so the plan never leaves your device. The result is as good as the plan: a sharp image and a long known wall (the whole width of the flat rather than a doorway) give lengths within a few centimetres. Plans that aren't drawn to scale, like most estate agent sketches marked "not to scale", can be off by more than that.
How to use it
- 1
Upload your plan
A PDF, photo, screenshot or scan of the plan (PDF, PNG, JPG, WebP or an iPhone photo). Or try it on the example plan first.
- 2
Set the scale
Tap both ends of a wall whose length you know, from a label on the plan or your tape measure, and type the length.
- 3
Measure the rest
Tap both ends of any other wall and its length appears on the plan. Drag an end to fine-tune; undo or clear when you slip.
Questions
How do I find the scale of a floor plan?
Look for one length written on it: an overall width, a room size like "4.20 × 3.60 m", or a scale bar. If there's none, measure one wall in your home with a tape. Draw that length here and the tool works out the scale for you, so you don't need to know whether the plan is 1:50 or 1:100.
How accurate is it?
About as accurate as the plan and your taps. Pick the longest wall you know for the scale, zoom in on a phone before you tap, and drag the ends onto the wall's corners. On a clear plan, lengths are typically within a few centimetres (about an inch); on a small or blurry photo, expect more.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tap to place each end, and drag the round handles to adjust. The page still scrolls and pinch-zooms over the plan, so you can zoom in for a precise tap.
Can I upload a PDF?
Yes. The tool opens the first page of the PDF in your browser, sharp enough to tap a wall's corner, and you measure on it like on an image. If the plan is on a later page, save that page on its own or take a screenshot of it.
Is my floor plan uploaded anywhere?
No. The image or PDF is opened in your browser and stays there; nothing is sent to our servers, and nothing is kept when you close the page.
Can I see my floor plan in 3D?
Yes. Upload it to UploadFloorplan and it becomes a 3D room with all its walls, doors and windows. Then furnish it and walk through it. A free account is enough.
Now try it in your real room
Upload your floor plan and UploadFloorplan turns it into a 3D room with its walls, doors and windows. Drag the furniture in and see what fits where.
